Kurkumbh, Maharashtra – Henkel today hosted senior officials from the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health (DISH) on the occasion of National Safety Week. In this, the joint director Mr. Sudhir Shinde and Deputy Director Shri. Pravin Patil along with representatives of various industries from Kurkumbh MIDC were present.
The event was based on this year’s theme ‘Engage, Educate, Empower’, which emphasized the importance of strengthening workplace safety through awareness, training and shared responsibility. During the interaction, Henkel pointed out the need for industries in the Kurkumbh industrial sector to collaborate more closely, share best practices and learn from each other in areas such as occupational health, safety and process safety.
Expressing his opinion on this occasion, Joint Director of Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health Mr. Sudhir Shinde said, “Collaborative efforts like these help to build awareness, improve compliance and strengthen commitment to ensure safer workplaces across the industrial ecosystem.”

The activity focused on creating awareness about the new Labor Code introduced by the Government of India, particularly the Occupational Safety, Health and Conditions of Work Code, which aims to streamline and strengthen workplace safety regulations in all sectors.
According to Labor Bureau data, India has more than 500 million workers, making workplace safety and compliance a critical priority for both regulators and industry. Also, initiatives like the National Safety Week conducted by the National Safety Council of India are playing an important role in promoting safety awareness and responsible practices in industries.
By hosting this event, Henkel has strengthened its commitment to government-industry collaboration. Also, companies in the Kurkumbh MIDC sector have been inspired to come together to improve safety standards by sharing information, cooperating with each other and creating a stronger culture of safety in the workplace.
