Despite a solid start, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) posted a total of 175 runs in the IPL 2026 game against Delhi Capitals at Bengaluru.


After taking wickets at regular intervals, the Delhi Capitals gained momentum to restrict RCB into chaseable total.


After being invited to bat first, Phil Salt and Virat Kohli opened the innings while Auqib Nabi opened the bowling attack.


With a decent start from the opener duo, Lungi Ngidi bagged the wicket of Virat Kohli for 19 runs. The veteran batter attempted for a big shot on a length outside off, where Pathum Nissanka picked the catch at deep cover.


With Padikkal joining Salt at the crease, the latter accelerated the innings, helping the side post 59 runs in the powerplay.



He slams his second fifty of this season. On the other hand, Axar Patel brought a breakthrough dismissing Padikka for 18 runs. Padikkal went on to smash the ball over longon where David Miller caught the ball.


In the very next over, Kuldeep Yadav picked the wicket of Phil Salt for 63 runs. His knock came from 38 deliveries which included 4 fours and 3 sixes. He got dismissed on short delivery where the ball went flat into the long off and Stubbs took the catch safely.


Mukesh Kumar bagged the wicket of Rajat Patidar for 8 runs. Mukesh deliveried a full delivery wide off and Rajat Patidar gone for a shot without moving the feet and caught back behind the wicket by KL Rahul behind the wickets.



With the dismissal, RCB lost four wickets for 131 runs. Axar Patel brought his second dismissal bagging the wicket of Tim David for 26 runs. Romario Shepherd who came to bat got dismissed on a lbw while Krunal Pandya got dismissed on a mix up at the crease.


Lungi Ngidi bagged the wicket of Jitesh Sharma for 14 runs. With Rasikh Salam and Bhuvneshwar Kumar at crease, RCB scored 175 runs in their 20 over innings.


Chasing 176 run target, Pathum Nissanka and KL Rahul opened the innings while, Bhuvneshwar Kumar opened the bowling attack.


Bhunveshwar Kumar bagged the wicket of Pathum Nissanka for 1 run and continued to take wickets of Karun Nair and Sameer Rizvi for 5 and 2 respectively. Delhi Capitals was in deep trouble as they lost 3 wickets for 18 runs.


However, KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs forged a decent 69-run partnership for the fourth wicket. KL Rahul smashed 57 runs off 34 deliveries before being dismissed by Krunal Pandya.


After his dismissal, Axar Patel joined Tristan Stubbs tried to forge partnership before the former got cramps and went back dug out after playing few deliveries.


David Miller joined Tristan Stubbs to complete the chase in the final over. Tristan Stubbs smashed his fifth fity in the IPL and remained unbeaten with 60 runs.


Meanwhile, David Miller scored 22* runs off 10 deliveries. Bhuvneshwar Kumar bagged three wickets while Krunal Pandya bagged one wicket.


Delhi Capitals will play their next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 21 at Hyderabad.
