Aiden Markram 5 Sixes in One Over: Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants are face to face in the 29th match of IPL 2026 being played at the Maharaja Yadvendra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur. In this match, a shameful record has been registered in the name of Lucknow bowler Aiden Markram. Markram has become the bowler for Lucknow to bowl the most expensive over in IPL history. Punjab’s batsmen thrashed his bowling badly.

Markram’s expensive over, rain of 5 sixes

Aiden Markram started his spell in the 13th over of the Punjab Kings innings, but it proved to be very costly for him. A total of 32 runs were scored in this over, in which Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly together hit 5 sixes. Connolly started the over with a bang by hitting three consecutive sixes, while Priyansh also made the over completely in Punjab’s name by hitting two sixes. Earlier this unwanted record was in the name of Ravi Bishnoi, who had given 27 runs against RCB in 2022.

Historic partnership of Priyansh and Connolly

Cooper Connolly and Priyansh Arya together made a brilliant partnership of 182 runs in 80 balls for the second wicket. This has become one of the most special partnerships in the history of Punjab Kings. This is only the third time for the team that a pair has added more than 150 runs. Earlier in 2020, KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal had made a partnership of 183 runs and in 2011, Adam Gilchrist and Shaun Marsh had made a partnership of 206 runs.

Connolly scored 87 runs in 46 balls, which included 8 fours and 7 sixes. Whereas Priyansh Arya played an explosive inning of 93 runs in 37 balls, in which he hit 4 fours and 9 sixes. Both the batsmen together completely pushed the Lucknow bowlers onto the backfoot.

Lucknow batsmen were flops

This match proved to be challenging for Lucknow Super Giants in bowling as well as batting. Some key batsmen of the team failed to make a big contribution. Prabhsimran Singh was out without opening the account, who was sent to the pavilion by Mohammed Shami. Captain Shreyas Iyer could score only 5 runs, while Nehal Wadhera scored 13 runs and was caught by Nicholas Pooran off the ball of M Siddharth. Overall, this match clearly shows the huge difference between the batting of Punjab Kings and the bowling of Lucknow, where Punjab has completely dominated.
