Saba Azad’s views on periods

Actress Saba Azad expressed her clear opinion on the beliefs prevalent in the society about periods and discrimination against women. She told that periods should not be considered shameful but an important part of life, which should be respected. Saba also raised questions on the conservative thinking spread on this subject in small towns, lack of education in schools and discrimination against women.

While talking to Galatta Plus, Saba shared her experiences and said that her family is quite progressive, and her mother often explains to her on such issues. She said that girls have misconceptions about periods that they will grow up. Apart from this, if there is any problem during periods then they are not considered correct. His school was like this, but it is not like this everywhere.

Saba said that in small towns when a girl gets her periods, she is considered sick, whereas it should be an occasion for celebration. Because without periods there will be no children, so women’s bodies should be respected. This is a cycle of life, from which a new life begins.

She also said that women are discriminated against due to periods. There are many superstitions, such as do not go into the kitchen, it is dirty, etc. Saba said that we are in 2026, and now all these things should end. Science has made great progress, and we should talk openly about this topic.

Saba also said that teachers do not want to teach children about this subject and then blame them. Children have the ability to learn, but adults fail to teach them. When such topics come up, teachers change the lesson. It is a shame that Biology teachers abandon this subject even though it is a basic knowledge.
