Bhojshala Case Muslim Side Appeal In Supreme Court: The case of Dhar based Bhojshala has now reached the Supreme Court. Qazi Moinuddin has filed a petition in the Supreme Court on behalf of the Muslim side against the decision of Madhya Pradesh High Court. Arrangement Committee Kamal Maula Masjid and All India Muslim Personal Law Board have also been involved as parties in this case.
In fact, the High Court in its decision had considered the Bhojshala complex as the temple of Goddess Vagdevi i.e. Mother Saraswati and had ended the permission given to the Muslim community for Friday prayers.
Now the Muslim side has challenged this decision in the Supreme Court, saying that the decision is contrary to archaeological facts and the spirit of the Places of Worship Act 1991. On the other hand, in view of the possible legal challenge after the decision, the Hindu side had already filed a caveat petition in the Supreme Court. It has been demanded that before passing any order in the matter, the Hindu side should be given an opportunity of being heard.
Indore-based Madhya Pradesh High Court bench had said in its important decision that the Kamal Maula Masjid area present in the Bhojshala complex is basically a part of the Saraswati temple. The court also canceled the 2003 order of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), under which the Muslim community was allowed to offer namaz every Friday. The Muslim side was also advised to find alternative land for the mosque.
The administration is seen in full alert mode regarding Dhar Bhojshala in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh on Friday. Since this is the first Friday after the High Court order, security arrangements have been especially tight. About 1500 policemen have been deployed to maintain law and order. Let us tell you that the administration is monitoring every nook and corner keeping the security arrangements in mind. Besides, drones are also being used to monitor the areas around Bhojshala.
