Ranveer Singh and producer Farhan Akhtar have been at loggerheads ever since Ranveer allegedly exited Don 3 just 10 days before the shoot. The matter escalated, leading to a fallout between the actor and the filmmaker, with reports claiming Ranveer even paid back the money spent on the project.
As per a report by Free Press Journal, Ranveer Singh had agreed to return his signing amount, which was reportedly around ₹10 crore.

However, the dispute is far from settled over, as the Ranveer-Farhan Don 3 controversy has taken a serious turn on Monday during a press conference held by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), where Ashoke Pandit announced that the federation has issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh.
Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment demands reimbursement
The FWICE has effectively banned Ranveer Singh and instructed the industry not to work with him until he resolves the dispute over the alleged Rs 45 crore damages demanded by producers.
Ashoke Pandit, Chief Advisor of FWICE, said, "Farhan Akhtar filed a complaint in IFTDA (Indian Film & Television Directors' Association). The complaint stated that three weeks before the unit was to leave, Ranveer withdrew from the project."
"Every 10 days, we reminded him three times to meet us and share his version as well. However, we didn't get any response. When we announced the press conference, we received an email stating that our federation does not fall under the jurisdiction of the issue," he added.
Pandit further explained, "Farhan wants ₹45 crores. This amount has been accounted for and audited. They have told him, 'This is the amount we have spent. You check it, and if you feel there's something wrong in the amount, we are ready to accept it.'"
He added that all parties are still open to discussions. "Farhan, Ritesh, Ranveer ji and all our bodies are ready to sit together and arrive at a positive conclusion."
Producers Guild attempted mediation earlier
Earlier, Ashoke Pandit, speaking to Bombay Times, said, "This trend is very wrong. You can't withdraw from a project 10 days before the shoot starts. We are having an internal meeting first, and then we will take a call."
Ashoke Pandit had earlier stated, "We will not allow the industry to be doomed here. Tomorrow, anybody can walk out of a movie. Whatever we do, we will do in the interest of the industry."
FWICE President BN Tiwari, Pandit, Honorary General Secretary Ashok Dubey, and Treasurer Gangeshwarlal Shrivastav conducted an internal meeting before announcing the decision.
The rift betweenRanveer Singh and Farhan Akhtarfirst surfaced after the actor reportedly exited Don 3 following the success of Dhurandhar. Reports suggested disagreements over the screenplay, project delays, and concerns regarding production management.
Akhtar on the Don 3 fallout
Farhan Akhtar recently addressed the issue in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India. He said, "A lot has happened over the last couple of years. You learn to expect the unexpected. Nothing can be taken for granted till you actually have it on film."
Farhan Akhtar's last directorial venture was Don 2 (2011), starring Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Boman Irani.
