Mumbai is set to get a major new public green space with the upcoming Coastal Road Gardens project, Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita Ambani announced during Reliance Industries ' Annual General Meeting.
Sharing the vision and first visuals of the project, Ambani said the gardens will span 130 acres and feature over 60,000 trees, making it one of the city's largest urban green spaces.
According to details shared at the AGM, the Coastal Road Gardens will include walking trails, children's play areas, family-focused attractions and modern sports facilities. The project aims to create a recreational and ecological hub for residents along Mumbai's Coastal Road corridor.
Calling it a space designed for future generations, Ambani said the gardens are envisioned as a long-term investment in the city's environmental and public well-being.
The announcement was accompanied by the first glimpse of the planned development, which seeks to expand green cover and provide new open spaces for Mumbaikars.
