Kevin Feige brief ‘handshake story’ in Jacob Batalon’s presence


Kevin Feige, President of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, revealed the back story behind the iconic handshake Peter Parker and his friend Ned does in the Spider-Man movies.


Feige and Jacob Batalon, who plays Ned, appeared at the D23 event where they discussed about the upcoming projects.


During the grand event, the MCU president unveiled the origin story of the handshake in the presence of Batalon.


According to Kevin, the iconic part of the Spider-Man movies was completely coined by Jacob and Tom.

He shared, “On the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming 2016, very young Jacob and very young Tom were off in the back working on something, don’t know what it was and I saw them come over to the director Jon Watts and go, ‘hey, we have this idea for a handshake.”


“We made up this handshake friends have, could we, could we do it, and Jon said, ‘yeah let’s do it’ and now it’s the culminating moment in one of the biggest movies of all time.”


Feige concluded his statement by thanking Batalon for bringing up this special move, which became an iconic part of the franchise.


Spider-Man: Brand New Day recently released in theatres in July and broke the record of Avengers: Endgame on it opening weekend.
