A Hindi-medium B.Tech program in Civil Engineering has been launched at the Shri GS Institute of Technology and Science (SGSITS) in Indore, starting this academic session. A total of 30 seats have been allocated for this special Hindi-medium batch.
A new option has been introduced for Hindi-medium students pursuing engineering in Madhya Pradesh. The Hindi-medium Civil Engineering B.Tech program at SGSITS, Indore, began this academic session. Students enrolling in this special batch are eligible for an incentive of ₹2 lakh from the Madhya Pradesh government during their final year of study. There are 30 seats available in this special batch designed for Hindi-medium students.
Hindi-Medium B.Tech Launched at SGSITS
This Hindi-medium Civil Engineering program has been launched at the Shri GS Institute of Technology and Science in Indore. It is an aided institute and ranks among the prestigious engineering colleges of Central India. The institute launched this initiative in alignment with the National Education Policy. The aim is to provide students who completed their schooling in the Hindi medium an opportunity to pursue technical education in their own language.
Special Batch of 30 Seats Created
Thirty seats have been designated for the Hindi-medium Civil Engineering B.Tech program. According to officials, approximately 20 students have already been admitted to this batch. Sunil Ajmera, Head of the Civil Engineering Department, noted that over the years, it has been observed that many students who studied in the Hindi medium up to Class 12 face difficulties pursuing engineering studies in English. Some students even drop out due to this challenge. Addressing this issue, the Civil Engineering course has been launched in Hindi, allowing students to understand subjects in their mother tongue and take examinations in the same language.
Study Material Prepared in Hindi Over Four Years
SGSITS spent several years preparing for the launch of this Hindi-medium course. According to Vivek Tiwari, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, experts at the institute have been working for the past four years to prepare technical study materials—originally in English—in Hindi.
₹2 Lakh Incentive in the Final Year
Another significant aspect for students pursuing Civil Engineering in Hindi is the incentive amount provided by the Madhya Pradesh government. Students enrolling in this program will be eligible for an incentive of ₹2 lakh in their final year; this means that alongside the opportunity to pursue their technical education in their mother tongue, they will also receive financial support from the government during the last two years of the course.
