Ration Card e-KYC: e-KYC has now become a mandatory process for ration card holders. If you have not yet completed the verification, you can do so by visiting a nearby ration shop. Additionally, you can check the Aadhaar linking status and other ration-related information from home using the 'Mera Ration' app.

Ration Card e-KYC: If your ration card e-KYC is not yet complete, it can be done at a ration shop. According to the Department of Food and Public Distribution, beneficiaries can complete their e-KYC at any ration shop across the country. This involves Aadhaar-based biometric authentication using an ePoS machine. Meanwhile, the 'Mera Ration' app allows you to check from home whether your Aadhaar is linked to your ration card.

How to complete Ration Card e-KYC?

As per the guidelines of the Department of Food and Public Distribution, ration card beneficiaries can complete the e-KYC process by visiting a ration shop. This facility is particularly useful for those living outside their home states due to employment or other reasons. The government has enabled beneficiaries to complete e-KYC at any Fair Price Shop (FPS) across the country.

The FPS dealer initiates the e-KYC process using the ePoS machine. Beneficiaries whose Aadhaar is already linked to their ration card can verify their identity using fingerprints or iris scans. Once biometric verification is successful, the e-KYC request is submitted.

Step-by-step guide to completing e-KYC

First, visit the nearest ration shop. There, the FPS dealer will initiate the e-KYC process on the ePoS machine. Next, biometric authentication will be performed using your Aadhaar via fingerprint or iris scan. Upon successful authentication, the e-KYC request will be submitted.

What to do if Aadhaar is not linked to the ration card?

If a beneficiary's Aadhaar is not already linked to their ration card, the Aadhaar number can be temporarily linked to the ration card record once the e-KYC process begins, in accordance with DFPD guidelines. Subsequently, the Aadhaar-based authentication process is completed.

What can you check from the comfort of your home?

You can check whether your Aadhaar is linked to your ration card using the 'Mera Ration' app. Additionally, the app allows you to view details regarding ration eligibility, recent transactions, and the nearest ration shop.
