New Delhi: The term 'Delulu' is becoming increasingly popular among Gen-Z on social media. It means believing in things that are not certain to be true. Memes of 'Delulu is the Solulu' are being seen everywhere on Instagram and TikTok. But can it be beneficial to have a little Delulu in the relationship?
When someone you like sees your story or replies to your message, your mind immediately starts dreaming. You think maybe he has the same feelings for you. This is where Delulu begins. We start looking at the small gestures of the other person from a positive perspective and convince ourselves that everything will be in our favor.
It is also to self-confidence. If you believe that you deserve love and a good relationship, you are less hesitant to express your feelings. This thinking takes you out of the fear of rejection. But there is a fine line here that needs to be understood. Confidence and ignoring reality are not the same thing.
The principle of manifestation is also connected to this. You must have seen that people often say on social media that you should think positively about the relationship you want and accept it as reality. This keeps you focused and optimistic. But it is important to keep in mind that merely thinking or manifesting does not change the other person's feelings.
Ultimately, a relationship is created by the will and effort of two people. You can be positive, believe in yourself, and imagine a good relationship, but you cannot change your partner's choices and boundaries.
If Delulu means having confidence in yourself and being open to possibilities, then 'Delulu is the Solulu' is not entirely wrong. But if this Delulu forces you to ignore the obvious signals from the other person, the situation may worsen. Maybe the right formula for a relationship is a little Delulu and a little reality check.
