Ranveer Singh's film 'Dhurandhar The Revenge', now known as 'Dhurandhar 2', will now be presented in a revised version for the TV audience. The film was earlier released in theaters with an A certificate, but has now been re-introduced before the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). According to reports, around 45 to 50 significant changes have been made in this TV version.
Following these changes, the film has received a U/A 16+ certificate, and its total runtime has also been reduced. After receiving approval from CBFC, 'Dhurandhar The Revenge' will have its world television premiere on 18th October 2026 at 7 PM on Star Gold.
'Dhurandhar The Revenge' previously received an A certificate, which means it was suitable for adult audiences only. To make it reach a wider audience on TV, the producers had to make several necessary changes. According to media reports, the CBFC advised around 45 to 50 cuts for the TV version. According to sources, most of these changes were to the violent and gory scenes of the film.
The theatrical version of the film had a length of 229.6 minutes, which is equivalent to approximately 3 hours 49 minutes 36 seconds. The revised TV version has been given a U/A 16+ certificate and has a length of 219 minutes 6 seconds. Thus, the film broadcast on TV will be approximately 10 minutes shorter than the theatrical version.
According to reports, the edited portions of the film specifically include scenes involving violence and gore. The producers made such changes to make the film version suitable for TV audiences, while not detracting too much from the story and its impact. The world television premiere of 'Dhurandhar The Revenge' will take place on 18th October 2026 at 7 PM on Star Gold.
