However, there is still hope for his comeback in limited overs cricket. Chahal has played an important role for the Indian team with his bowling in ODI and T20 cricket. Despite his retirement from first class cricket, limited overs cricket has not stopped completely for Chahal. In such a situation, his return to the ODI and T20 team will be under watch in the coming time.

Chahal shared an emotional post on social media

Chahal recalled his journey in red-ball cricket by sharing an emotional post on social media. He told that when he held the red ball in his hand for the first time, he was only 10 years old and he had no idea that cricket would become such an important part of his life.

Chahal said that for him red-ball cricket was not just a format, but this game taught him the meaning of patience, struggle, character and standing firm in difficult situations. He told that his last match in first class cricket was at Lord's. It was always his dream to wear a Test cap, but this dream could not be fulfilled.

Chahal said in his statement that despite not getting a chance to play Test cricket, he is completely satisfied with his journey and is grateful for every opportunity he has got in first class cricket. He said that Red Ball has given him some of the most beautiful memories of his life, which he will always keep with him.

But I'm not finished yet…

Chahal made it clear that despite retiring from first class cricket, he wants to continue playing limited overs cricket. He said, “I am not finished yet. The hunger to play for my country is still the same. I am confident that there is still cricket left in me and I will give everything to get another chance in the ODI and T20 formats.”

Chahal expressed special gratitude to Haryana Cricket Association as well as Ranbir Singh Mahindra and Anirudh Singh Chaudhary. He said that he is thankful to them for the support, trust and confidence they have received throughout their journey.

From holding the red ball for the first time at the age of 10 to playing his last first class match at Lord's, Chahal's journey was long and memorable. Now his focus is on getting another chance for the country in white-ball cricket.
