New Delhi. In the 90s, many Bollywood couples were in the headlines for their work as well as personal relationships. Among these, the names of actor Nana Patekar and actress Manisha Koirala were also often discussed. Both of them had worked together in the film Agni Sakshi and during this time various kinds of discussions started coming to light regarding their closeness. The news of their alleged affair remained a topic of discussion in the film circles for a long time. However, there was never any official confirmation of these discussions. Now the old statement of Agni Sakshi author Ranbir Pushp has once again brought this story into discussion.

While sharing his experience of working with Nana Patekar and Manisha Koirala, Ranbir Pushp had said that there was a good friendship between the two. The mutual understanding between the two on the set was also very strong. They used to discuss among themselves about their characters and scenes and this understanding of theirs was visible on screen also. According to Ranbir, he definitely saw both of them close but he never saw their relationship from a romantic perspective.

When Ranbir was directly asked whether there was any relationship beyond friendship between Nana Patekar and Manisha Koirala, he clearly said that he never felt it. He admitted that there was a close and deep understanding between the two but it was not right for him to call it love or romance. Ranbir told that both the actors used to discuss their scenes while working together and that is why their screen chemistry also looked very effective.

Ranbir also told that at that time many things had come to light in newspapers and media regarding the relationship between Nana and Manisha. He had also read those news but based on his experience he never saw their relationship from that perspective. He said that his main focus on the set was on his work. He concentrated on work- matters and did not pay much attention to the personal relationships of artists.

The film Agni Sakshi was released in the year 1996. Nana Patekar, Manisha Koirala and Jackie Shroff were seen in lead roles in this psychological thriller directed by Partho Ghosh. The audience saw the pairing of Nana and Manisha in the film and during this time discussions also intensified regarding their off-screen bonding. Even after years, the story of their alleged relationship has been included in the popular stories of Bollywood.

Although Ranbir Pushp's statement makes it clear that he had definitely seen a strong friendship and good understanding between the two, but he did not come across any such experience that could make him consider it a romantic relationship. In such a situation, the old discussions about the love affair between Nana Patekar and Manisha Koirala still seem limited to rumors and speculations.
