IND vs WI 2nd T20I: The second match of the five-match T20 series between India and West Indies was played on October 9 at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi. In this match, the Indian team, batting first, scored 249 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, West Indies batted brilliantly and scored 252 runs losing 4 wickets in 18.3 overs and won the match by 6 wickets. With this victory, West Indies leveled the series at 1-1. Despite the excellent performance of the Indian batsmen, the bowlers could not defend the big target.


India had scored 249 runs


After losing the toss and opting to bat first, Abhishek Sharma gave a fast start to the Indian team by scoring 20 runs in 12 balls. However, he failed to play big innings. After this Sanju Samson batted brilliantly. He scored 82 runs in 41 balls with the help of 9 fours and 4 sixes. Ishan Kishan also batted aggressively and scored 43 runs in 22 balls. Whereas, Shreyas Iyer scored 40 runs in 18 balls. In the end, Tilak Verma scored unbeaten 44 runs in just 18 balls and took the Indian team's score to 249. For West Indies, Roston Chase took 3 wickets for 24 runs.



Mayank Yadav gave initial shocks


West Indies had a very bad start while chasing the target of 250 runs. Indian fast bowler Mayank Yadav dismissed Kamil Puran and Shimran Hetmyer in the very first over. Puran scored 4 runs, while Hetmyer returned to the pavilion without opening the account. After this Rovman Powell scored 24 runs in 13 balls. However, after his dismissal, the Indian team's hopes of victory had increased. But after this the course of the match completely changed.



Shai Hope and Rutherford turned the match


West Indies captain Shai Hope and Sherfane Rutherford thrashed the Indian bowlers. Hope scored unbeaten 102 runs in 45 balls. At the same time, Rutherford played a stormy innings of 84 runs in just 37 balls. Both the batsmen quickly added 120 runs for the fourth wicket and brought West Indies closer to victory. In the 17th over, Rutherford hit three consecutive sixes against Kuldeep Yadav. After this it became difficult for the Indian bowlers to stop the runs. West Indies also got the benefit of dew in the second innings.



Indian bowlers could not stop the runs


Despite such a big score, the performance of the Indian bowlers was disappointing. Akshar Patel gave 63 runs in 3.3 overs, while Kuldeep Yadav gave 53 runs in 4 overs. Mayank Yadav took 3 wickets for 36 runs in 3 overs. Kuldeep got a success, but the rest of the bowlers failed to stop the runs.


The series is tied at 1-1


West Indies scored 252 runs in 18.3 overs and won the match by 6 wickets. With this victory, the five-match T20 series is leveled at 1-1. Now the third match between the two teams will be played in Indore on 11 October. The Indian team will try to make a comeback in the next match, while the West Indies would like to maintain their winning streak.
