Bathinda : Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Saturday accused the Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) govt in Punjab of being solely responsible for turning ‘Rangla Punjab’ into ‘Nasheela Punjab’ and urged women in the state to take on the drug mafia.

Addressing two women’s rallies at Jaito and Kotkapura in Faridkot district , she said the chief minister had failed to fulfil his promise of eradicating the drug menace in four months.

Harsimrat said forms were being filled for women to join the “Mai Bhago Di Fauj”, which would serve as a bulwark against drug trafficking . She said the ‘fauj’ would document drug dealing in villages and ‘mohallas’ across Punjab. Once the SAD formed the govt, the women would submit their forms, containing lists of drug traffickers and those sheltering them.

“We will form a special task force headed by a woman DGP to look into all the complaints and take exemplary action against the offenders,” Harsimrat added.
