Bathinda : SAD MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Monday said ' Mai Bhago Di Fauj ’, an anti-drug women’s group formed by her party, would bring an end to the "big crocodiles” of the drug trade in Punjab .
Addressing a rally in Bathinda with SAD halka in-charge Bubbli Dhillon, she said chief minister Bhagwant Mann had not only gone back on his promise to end the scourge of drugs in four months, but failed to take action against those who were patronising it. “Women of Punjab are asking Bhagwant Mann why the big crocodiles behind drug trafficking in Punjab roam free, why their sons are dying due to drug overdose and why there is virtual home delivery of ‘ chitta ’ in the state?” she said.
She reiterated the SAD group would collect details of traffickers and those who shelter them, so that they could be punished when SAD formed the next govt. She added a rehabilitation programme would be initiated for patients of addiction who would be skilled and given loans to make a new beginning.
She cited recent videos of people being under the influence of drugs in public places.
Harsimrat claimed that women were coming up to her and urging her to save their children.
