An orientation workshop was organized at Fun and City, Dhanrua on Monday for the effective implementation of Pink Day in Ayushman Arogya Temples with the aim of promoting the health and well-being of women. Representatives of Jeevika, Jhapaigo and Health Department participated in the workshop organized under the chairmanship of Dr. Pankaj Bhushan, Medical Officer in-charge of Community Health Center (CHC), Dhanrua.

Jeevika's state health and nutrition manager Soumya along with state, district and block level officials of Jeevika, state representatives of Jhapaigo and officials of the health department were present in the programme.

Addressing the workshop, Soumya stressed the need for better coordination between livelihood and health departments to improve the health and nutrition of women. He said that by increasing awareness and participation of women at the community level, the benefits of health services can be extended to more and more women. At the same time, the state representative of Jhapaigo discussed the strategies for effective operation of Pink Day and providing quality health services in Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.

Special emphasis on early detection of anemia and cancer

In the workshop, there was discussion on organizing Pink Day as a designated day and connecting women with services like maternal and reproductive health, anemia control, nutritional counselling, early detection of breast cancer and cervical cancer and screening of non-communicable diseases. Special emphasis was laid on making women aware through Jeevika's self-help groups and providing necessary tests and counseling with the help of the health department.

At the end of the program, the participants committed to make Pink Day an effective platform for women's health awareness and empowerment and to further strengthen the coordination between livelihood and health departments. On this occasion, hospital manager Ramnarayan Prasad and other health workers were present.
