Patna. An important project has been approved to improve road facilities in the state of Bihar. About 88 km long road from Naubatpur in Patna to Hariharganj in Jharkhand via Arwal and Aurangabad will be made four lane. The project is estimated to cost approximately Rs 2,500 crore. This is expected to make transportation between Bihar and Jharkhand easier.
These cities will benefit
Presently this road has two lanes and is known as National Highway-139 (NH-139). With its widening, people of Patna, Arwal and Aurangabad can get better road connectivity. Besides, passengers and goods vehicles going towards Jharkhand will also get convenience.
Bypasses and flyovers at many places
The project plans to build a 12.3 km long bypass in Arwal. Apart from this, bypasses will also be built in Daudnagar, Aurangabad, Obra and Amba. Flyover construction is also proposed on GT Road in Aurangabad. This can help in reducing traffic pressure within cities and facilitating long distance vehicular movement.
Trade and transportation will gain momentum
The construction of a four-lane road is also expected to improve connectivity with the Varanasi-Kolkata Expressway. This can make transportation of goods between Bihar and Jharkhand easier. Once completed, the project is expected to reduce travel time, improve road safety and boost regional trade.
