Patna : The new chairperson of the Bihar School Examination Board ( BSEB ), Rajesh Kumar , on Friday gave officials one month to identify and fix gaps in the board’s examination arrangements . He ordered strict action against staff found responsible for lapses in previous exams and gave students who missed the application deadline for the 2027 Class X and XII board exams a final chance to submit their forms from Nov 7 to 17.
Kumar, who is the Patna divisional commissioner, issued the directives at a meeting with senior board officials shortly after taking charge as chairperson. He asked officials to examine how previous tests were conducted, correct any shortcomings they found and identify the employees responsible.
The review will also cover outside agencies hired to conduct examinations and carry out other board work. Kumar directed officials to scrutinise those agencies and obtain no-objection certificates confirming that none had been blacklisted.
He also ordered officials to clear pending board matters within a month and review cases pending before the courts, including miscellaneous jurisdiction cases.
The Nov 7 to 17 window applies to students who have yet to submit forms for either the 2027 Matriculation or Intermediate examination. The board described it as their last opportunity to apply. The board also set Nov 22 for the School Librarian Eligibility Test .
After reviewing preparations, Kumar directed officials to publish a formal notice and inform candidates of the date. The board said preparations for the test had been completed.
